Alone in Athens

Created by Lovestogo on August 13, 2005

  • I was totally Alone in Athens while attending a 3-day class for work. With only a few free hours after class, a presentation to prepare, and no husband to run around with, I only had time to eat, sleep, and study.

We Let the Dawgs Out

Created by jrheimbach on August 22, 2004

  • People need a purpose to stop in Athens. No major highways or thoroughfares run across this Georgia region. Travelers stop for soccer tournaments, academic conferences or for the famous football games featuring the fifth ranked collegiate team. Athens also touts its famous musical history with groups as REM and B-52.

A weekend in Athens

Created by Todd W. on November 4, 2000

  • Athens is famous for its music and its university. Just a hour from Atlanta, it's a great place to spend a weekend night, either in the summer when no one else is there, or during football Saturdays when the whole city is red and black. It's a cheap and attractive place to spend a little time, eat good food, and have some fun.

A weekend is not enough in Athens

Created by Tideone on September 14, 2000

  • Athens Georgia means different things to different people. For Georgia football fans it means a trip to Sanford Stadium in the fall to watch their Bulldogs play. For others it means history as the University of Georgia is one of the oldest universities in the nation. Athens is a beautiful city, especially in the downtown area around the campus.
