My stay in Korcula - a beautiful island which I have visited several times and one day would love to live there - if only.

We made a last minute reservation at the Marco Polo and were pleasantly surprised.

Halfway between Dubrovnik and Split, the pleasant town of Korčula (on the island of the same name) is a good place to break the ferry journey between the two, or to stay longer if you’re seeking intense solitude. It also claims (with some justification) to be Marco Polo’s birthplace.

Korcula's good - there's great access to other places, either independantly or through organised tours, the nightlife is chilled out but there's a wide variety, the sea is warm and clear, and the ice cream's amazing!!
