Brussels is one of the foremost cities in the world for Art Nouveau architecture. My husband and I spent the better part of our trip immersing ourselves in the fin de siecle Art Nouveau buildings in this lovely town.

This trip was free; transportation was carefree. All I needed was a 5-day pass and my translateur, and I was off to see the Ardennes, the Meuse, Flanders, and all the rest of beautiful Belgique.

Brussels is famous for it's beer, chocolates and lace-I'm not sure about the lace but the other two make it worth a visit!

During our stay we tried some Belgium fruit beers, toured a local brewery, toured a couple of museums, churches, went to a "bird market" held every Sunday morning, saw the "Mannekin Pis", took a guided walking/bus tour of Brussels, watched their musical light show at the main square

When planning our trip we were asked several times why we were going to Belgium and actually I was surprised that anyone would question - think about it Chocolate, Beer, remarkable Architecture and one of the best tracks on the F1 calendar.
