- We visited Smoky Mountain National Park based out of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We spent three days in the park hiking, seeing some of the park's waterfalls, searching for salamanders, and driving scenic roads watching for wildlife and pioneer historical landmarks.

- The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a close weekend getaway trip for us. It provides a reprieve from work and it is quite simply beautiful in the springtime when the redbuds, dogwoods, mountain laurel, and rhododendrons are in bloom.

- Great Smoky Mountain National Park is home to the the greatest diversity of flora and fauna in the Eastern United States. With over 800 miles of trails, this is a hiker's paradise. A visit such as this one only makes you want to return.

- We were to spend one week in Helen, Ga and one week in Nashville, Tn and I wanted to visit the Smokies whilst in the area. A friend recommended we went from Helen rather than Nashville as it was nearer.

- In Cosby Tennessee, 30 miles from Gatlinberg, away from the rush Baum Mountain Cabins rents beautiful log cabins on a weekly basis. We paid only $500 for the cabin for the week. We were close enough to the national park, but far enough away from the tourist towns.

- Absolutely breathtaking!! Need I say more?!? If you’re taking a vacation into either Kentucky’s Daniel Boone National Forest or the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina you’re in for an outdoor adventure unlike any other. That’s my thought anyway. I spent a long weekend on the road experiencing this countryside. It’s a trip I’ll cherish always and an experience that will stay with me until I venture into those mountains for another time.

- The State of Tennessee is to be congratulated on one of best managed parks in the country. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is one of the most visited parks in the country and you can spend the day surrounded by pristine nature without having to pay anyone a dime.
