Puerto Galera is where the deepest scuba dive was made. However, you don't have to go very deep to see the richest reefs in the world.

I welcomed January 1, 2005, with friends in our house in Manila, but by 5am, they had all passed out on the floor. I was left longing to start the new year differently. I packed my bathing suit in my tote bag and set off for Puerto Galera in Mindoro. Alone.
