After living in NC all of my life, my first trip to the Outer Banks was with my family in 2011. We visited four different lighthouses, two which allow visitors to climb to the top. We also visited the Wright Brothers Memorial and took a ferry to Ocracoke Island.

For a relaxing vacation, I highly recommend the Outer Banks. Take the time to drive the entire length to experience incredible views and adorable little villages. Whether it’s 2 days or 2 weeks, you won’t get bored with the beauty, history, and charm of the Outer Banks.

The Outer Banks in North Carolina is so BEAUTIFUL! Surf shops, beach volleyball, boardwalks, and beach houses... the ambience is something to surely capture a first-timer like myself, who never even saw the ocean until this trip!

Camp Hatteras, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, is a first-class campground. There's plenty to do in this area, like great fishing. There are lots of historical sites, a Manteo sailing ship, and historical sites. There is also an aquarium, and Manteo is where retired sheriff Andy Taylor resides.

We often go to Okcracoke for a nice summer weekend. Our anniversary is July 30, so we come usually that weekend. There is a boarding kennel, so we bring our dog with us and have a nice time at the beach.
