- The city rises from the plain to be crowned by the pink Alhambra palace. Alhambra is a majestic structure and deserves up to a full day of your time but the city also has other attractions that make it a good base for seeing this region.

- On an adventure in "Let’s Pretend" from our ‘home’ in the Albaicin, we could grocery shop, use an ATM, and enjoy a number of restaurants and a superb pastry shop, all within walking distance, or hop on a minibus to downtown Granada, the Alhambra or St. Nicholas Mirador.

- Granada has two World Heritage sites, the Alhambra and the Albaicin. For three restful days, we lived in the Albaicin, toured the Alhambra, Carlos V’s Palace, and the Capilla Real. The last stronghold of the Moors enchanted us with its past and present beauty.

- The ancient city of Granada is a historical treat. A showcase of Moorish culture nestled at the foot of the gorgeous Sierra Nevada.

- Granada's remarkable history and sights, architecture and cobbled plazas, nightlife and food, perfect weather and natural beauty make it a uniquely intimate and fabulous Spanish city. Possibly my favorite.
