Best of IgoUgo
Near the boarder with Romania, this hilly, elegant Bulgarian town is a delight. I visited for the first time in July 1997, and loved the slow pace, beautiful buildings, and relaxed atmosphere here.

Veliko Tarnovo is one of the anciant bulgarian towns. During the first and second empire the palace of the king was situated here. A place with big attraction and big importance for the anciant bulgarian empire. These days merly a ruin but still you can see the outline of the site, and the impressive surroundings, feeling being back in the history of Bulgaria. Several churches also can be visited. The old part of the town Veliko Tarnovo is a pleasant place to stay and the surrounding nature is impressive
