August in Alexandria

Created by Maurie on August 24, 2003

  • We went for another weekend getaway to the Fairfield Alexandria. This time, we had a two-bedroom lockoff. Originally, when this trip was booked the rest of the family was coming, but when they were unable to, I was unable to get a smaller unit.

Weekend Getaway in Alexandria

Created by Maurie on February 15, 2003

  • We go to Fairfield, Alexandria, frequently for weekend getaways. We love this resort. We have stayed in both 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units and they are very well-maintained and spacious. It's in a great location to go sigtseeing in Washington or shopping in Old Towne.

"surprise in Old Town Alexandria"

Created by Lulu Byrd on November 5, 2000

  • Old Town Alexandria is a charming riverside community brimming with history. The abundance of stores, cafés and restaurants give this Washington DC community a "hip" feel that set it apart from the blandness of many of DC's Northern Virginia suburbs. A must-do for those visiting Washington, DC.

Outside of the DC Beltway

Created by Carmen on July 7, 2000

  • While all of Northern Virginia is one big suburb of Washington DC, Old Town is my favorite one to visit. It just has old colonial charm, and it oozes history. Plus, you can look accross the Potomac and get a great view of the Washington Monument and capital city.
