- This is a reconstructed version of my 1985 trip to the Loire Valley of France. I enjoyed a day of visiting three chateaux, Chambord, Chenonceau, and Amboise which are full of history and intrigue that had me picqued from the get-go.

- French chateaux along the Loire are magnificent, each in their own style, and full of imagination. They were built for kings, but now only visited by tourists.

- This is a beautiful area, with many historic chateaux and wonderful places to eat and stay. It is also pretty flat, with short distances between towns, making it great for bicycle touring.
