- In Part 5 of 7 of our month-long journey around Guatemala, we find out where all the tourists are! The villages of San Marcos and San Pedro are tourist magnets, with dramatic volcano scenery reflected on the vast calm of Lago de Atitlán.

- This lovely town is a great place to learn Spanish. I saw that the restaurant Munchies was recommended to travelers. If you want to eat, forget Munchies, as service is soooooo poor. We were there for 1 hour with no drinks or food. It seems that the help was changing shifts and had no time for us. Try Mike’s Pizza – it is very good.

- If you're looking for a fast-paced tourist town, San Pedro is NOT the place. This beautiful village, perfectly situated on Lago de Atitlan, is a place where you can come to escape from the outside world.
