Carriacou’s nickname, "The Friendly Island," might be a bit of an overstatement, but this is the place if you're looking to completely get away from the world. And what's not to love about a 13-square-mile island with over 100 rum shops and only one gas station?

Carriacou is the largest island in the Grenadine chain and it is a lovely, sparsely populated island that is politically part of the Grenada. It was our first island destination on our Windjammer cruise that departed Grenada 2/7/00.
