In August 2004 I took a weekend trip from Cusco to visit one of the deepest canyons in the world, Colca Canyon. This journal tells about my experience and gives some tips on how to get there and enjoy the experience!

You can take a short tour and peek over the edge of this amazing canyon or you can venture or you can hike to towns lost in time. Colca Canyon is worth the hike.

The Colca river has built in southern Peru a natural wonder, the Colca canyon, the world's deepest (3400 meters deep and 100 kms long). The beauty is not only in the canyon, but in the towns, the people, the animals and plants that can be seen there.
