Our stay at Punta Gorda was amazing...the place exudes a very homey feeling and the food is amazing. The owners are very nice as well.

Caution--be prepared, this is not even a one-star resort. We didn't expect much from the catalog photo, and this was way less. No phone, taxi, bus, or car rentals from the resort. Poor, pricey, family style meals. Town trips are $15 from the American owners.

We have always wanted to go to Belize, but couldn't find an exchange until Cuxlin Ha was offered. What a fantastic place...we didn't want to come home! English is the principle language, you can drink the water, and eat the food! Relax or seek adventure.

PG, as it's locally known, is the largest town in southern Belize. Capital of the Toledo District, the 3,500 inhabitants are mostly English speaking Garifuna and East Indian.
