Beutiful place, unique experience, but double the cost and chalk up your walet. The money exchange rate for the australian dollar is 1.12 USD = 1 ASD however that does not mean that things are equal. It will cost you twice as much to eat, sleep and have fun.

We escaped the horrible American Thanksgiving with the Turkkey and stuffing. We instead spent it eating mussels on the beach....

Charters Towers is an old gold mining town that today thrives on cattle, mining and tourism. It gives visitors a unique look at life as it was 120 years ago but provides modern and interesting accommodation and eating opportunities.
