Slidell started out as a town where simple country folk wanted to live around more trees, and have larger properties than on the other side of Lake Pontchartrain. My home away from home is a destination where there are interesting people and stories, and there's always something to do.

We stayed here to unwind from the cruise we just came from. Slidell, Louisiana, is located just 25 minutes from the heart of New Orleans. It's a nice, friendly community. We took a swamp tour with no mosquitoes, saw the D-Day Museum, French Quarter, and the site of the Battle of New Orleans.

    What's a Journal?

Journals are collections of reviews, stories, and tips about a place. Think of it as your IgoUgo scrapbook where you keep everything from your trip. If you want to keep all your Slidell travel articles in one place, you’d do it here.
