- My wife and I and two kids needed a break from the hustle and bustle, so we packed the car and headed north for the sanity of Noosa Heads.

- Spending three months in Queensland was one of the sweetest times of my life. Noosa is about 2 hours north of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast of eastern Australia. It is a sleepy (in winter) resort town with world-class restaurants and an elegant lifestyle. Don't miss the surrounding hinterlands!

- Stayed at motels and hotels in mostly small towns. They had good rates and
friendly people.

- Noosa is the best location on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. It suits a family holiday or a great getaway with friends. There is always something to do for all ages and the weather is spectacular.

- Noosa in July was a welcomed break with perfect temperatures during the day. Noosa Blue resort was a very nice place to stay. Grub & Co at Noosa Junction was great for simple bites. Riva Restaurant on the water is superb for food and views (in Quamby Place).

- Noosa is a very different type of resort to the Gold Coast. Affluent and no high rises, it's probably not the best place for backpackers to linger.

- When the temperature was due to hit 40 degrees Celsius, what better way to escape then with a drive up to the Sunshine Coast (in an air-conditioned car) and a stay in a Noosa hotel (also air-conditioned).
