Situated on the Balcon de Europa on the Costa del Sol the town of Nerja has a stupendous setting and offers the most amazing views.It has also retained its small town charm and is a relaxing place to take a break for a few days.

Nerja was one of the highlights of our three-week trip to Spain. The town was perfectly picturesque, with beautiful beaches, the stunning "Balcony of Europe", and a healthy but not overabundant tourist population.

We first went to Nerja a couple of years ago when on a bus trip from Benalmádena to visit the caves. We saw very little of Nerja during the trip, but we found it interesting enough for us to decide we would like to explore the area more fully at a future date. This journal details what we found when we returned for a two week stay in Nerja.
