People at Amelia Island Plantation Resort in northeastern Florida are downright friendly. Take local resident Olin Lancaster, for example. One day last fall, he was enjoying a leisurely breakfast on the deck of the Plantation's Coop Coffee shop while his wife entertained her bridge club. When he saw us taking photos of the foliage, he pointed out a heron perched in the tree nearby. One thing led to another and, before long, we were in Olin's Yukon, getting the grand tour of the resort. The final stop was his elegant Southern Living-style home, where we met his wife Sally.
"What's the significance of the pig weathervane atop your home?," we asked.
"Because, since coming to live at Amelia Island Plantation, we feel as if we are in 'hog heaven,'" she told us with her typical warm, friendly smile.

The good part is that you don't have to live at the Amelia Island Plantation Resort to enjoy your own vacation in "hog heaven."
