Being a guest at the Horned Dorset was like being inside a Hans Christian Andersen fairy-tale. There were tropical flowers, friendly staff and beautiful accomodations. Best of all, if you didn't want to socialize, you were left alone and your privacy was always respected. This is the kind of resort to get away from civilization, hang out, read, think, swim and just be. No television, no phone, no radio, just good company, great books (in the library) and wonderful hosts. Close

New Resorts and hotels in the area include brand-new Rincon of the Seas, Beside the Pointe On the Beach with El Tambu bar (with jazz music on Fridays), Coconut Palm Inn, and the renowned Horned Dorset Primavera.
For excellent food you can go to The Landing, Tamboo tavern and Seaside Grill, Deco Fine Cuisine, Lazy Parrot Restaurant, or Horned Dorset Primavera Restaurant. For drinks any of these places is recommended as well as Villa Cofresi (also a hotel and restaurant) with the special drink "Coco Pirata".

Rincon has BEAUTIFUL beaches, all with their own personality. A few that we visited and loved:Domes Beach and Spanish Wall Beach - connected by a trail near the old power plant. The beaches are popular with surfers but during the day are most deserted. Spanish Wall is hidden; we never saw anyone either time we were there. Steps Beach - Has small tidal pools that capture neat aquatic life to watch. Steps Beach is named for the concrete stairs that sit in the shallow water. It's more popular with families but it still a beautiful beach.Pools Beach - Towards the north side of Rincon, it's a wide, flat beach with beautiful rock formations on either side. It was abandoned when we went but I've heard it gets families on the weekends. Close
