On a beautiful day off when you don't want spend time in a car, stop by Carter Mountain. I love getting the chicken-and-grape-salad sandwich from Brix and stopping by Jefferson Vineyards for a bottle of wine, then up the mountain I go. Find a quiet spot on either balcony or in the orchard itself, (discreetly) pour some wine, and take in the view. Depending on the time of year, there are juicy peaches, a great variety of apples, and in the fall, don't miss the pumpkin patch and apple cider doughnuts.Close

During the fall of the year, Charlottesville is transformed. It''''s not the leaves or the change in weather, it''''s FOOTBALL. Home of the University of Virginia Cavaliers, Scott''''s Stadium has recently undergone rennovation. 20,000 seats were added, along with some architectural elements that make it blend in more with the rest of the school''''s Jeffersonian look. On any given Saturday, you can hear the roars from the stadium a mile away,especially if UVA is winning. If you''''re a college football fan, a game at UVA is certainly a way to enjoy the Charlottesville atmosphere. Close
