The ice cream parlor is a fair sized building; they sell ice cream in one corner, with the greater part of the building set aside for souvenirs such as caps, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and coffee mugs. My visit was in mid-October, and they also had a large inventory of Halloween costumes and decorations at that time.
At the time of my visit in 2002, there was a man painting the flames on the side of the building facing the parking lot.
The offerings at the ice cream parlor include a make-your-own-sundae (you select the toppings) with alternative names for the toppings: "toenail clippings" (shredded coconut), "bat droppings" (chocolate chips), "ghost poop" (marshmallows), "dark ooze" (hot fudge). There are others, but this should give you a good idea of what they are trying to do here. I imagine the kids love it.
A two-scoop make-your-own sundae costs $2.50; they also have specialty sundaes for $4.75. Cones are also available, at a cost of $1.00 for a one-scoop cone, $2.00 for a two-scoop cone, and $2.75 for a three-scoop cone. This is not meant to be a complete menu, but is intended to give you a sense of the prices there.

The general store is a convenience store, with a few basic groceries, beer, ice, bottle gas, etc. The stock carried in the store is reflective of its location at the edge of the Pinckney State Recreation Area with its lakes, campgrounds, hiking trails, and picnic areas.
You can also purchase postcards and stamps there, and have the Hell postmark placed on your mailings. While there are a few souvenirs available here, most have been moved across the parking lot to the Screams Ice Cream Parlor located next door.
