Due to the exorbitant cost of tie-down fees at Dare County Airport during the week of the Centennial Celebration, we opted to tie down at nearby Edenton (an easy 50-minute drive to/from the OBBC resort). There was no charge(!) for landing or tie-down fees, even during the week of the Centennial. Edenton Airport also offers a full-service FBO whose staff are friendly and very helpful. We will tie down/re-fuel here again on future trips just to visit these nice folks.
