The Thames River in England is a famous river. Well-known river that has been included in many famous English stories such as Shakespeare. Many people visit this river every day. What about the Thames River in Connecticut? I was about to find out.My wife with my family drove me to this river. I was thinking that we were going down just to see my mother-in-law and her boyfriend for a nice ride on their new boat. They just brought a new boat. As my family and I were walking towards the boat, I noticed a flag. The flag had Sylvester the cat that you see on Looney Toons. He had a graduation cap with a degree. After I saw the flag, I knew something was going on.When my family and I reached the boat, I saw not only my mother-in-law and her boyfriend, but also I saw my father-in-law, his wife, and their children. I was shocked but happy. My brother-in-law and my wife's aunt came to the boat.My father-in-law made delicious chicken while my mother-in-law's boyfriend gave me some delicious local beer. I was very much enjoying my time in the river. Plenty of food and company made me very happy that I earned my Bachelor's Degree. The weather was perfect. With a nice breeze and clear, sunny day, the view of the Thames River was awesome. From where the boat was located, I could see downtown New London (Not like the numerous fogs from the other river in England that I hear about). What I like about this river is that it has a nice beach that people can enjoy. In the New England area, beaches are rarely known because of many reasons. Reasons such as the New England being a cold area, or the beaches tend to be too rocky. Even so, the river is a nice place to pull out a beach chair, sit, and take in the sun.The funny part about this event was that my wife was the mastermind behind it. She spent six months planning this, and she ensured that no one spilled the beans. In fact, my father-in-law was saying that he was cooking chicken for his special client for work. Not knowing that I was the client, I continued to believed that chicken that he was cooking was hands-off.Great food, weather, and company made this an excellent graduation celebration. If I could write like Shakespeare about the Thames River, I would say this about this river- Oh Thames River, Oh Thames River, ne'er I shalt forget you. Close
