We stayed in a beautiful one-bedroom condo in the Stone Castle/Stone Castle Place area. The condo was roomy, furnishings were nice, and the kitchen was well stocked; unfortunately, it came with ants, which limited our ability to use the kitchen. When I called to complain, the service person told us we could come up to the lodge and get spray or ant traps. We did not want to spray ourselves, so we chose the traps, which seemed to encourage more critters to flock to our kitchen. I complained again and was told that if we left for a while they would spray with a non-toxic spray (does one exist?) and then come in and clean the kitchen. We went on a day trip and they sprayed; they claim they cleaned, but everything was exactly where we left it, which made me wonder. We left three days later and were still fighting ants. I told them that from my experience as a homeowner, it is more effective to routinely spray around the foundation of the unit rather than spray inside. They seemed to have never heard of that option. It was very disconcerting to have to kill ants every time we wanted to use the kitchen. So would I go back? NO!Close

Fairfield Glade Resort mailed us some information a couple of weeks before we left for our week in Tennessee. One of the brochures was about the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN, and they recommended that we see a play while we were in the area. I searched for them on the Internet and found a listing of the plays available during our stay. We selected Always... Patsy Cline and The Spitfire Grill. Both plays were musicals, and both were excellent. We were all glad we took the time to call and get tickets. Our seats were in excellent locations, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Close

We had visited SGT York's home on a previous trip to Fairfield Glade, but wanted to return so that my friend Doris could see it too. It takes about an hour to make the drive north to Pall Mall, TN. The trees were in bloom, the grass was beautiful and green, and the drive was beautiful. SGT York was the most highly decorated soldier of World War I. We had seen the movie "SGT York" starring Gary Cooper and were familiar with some aspects of SGT York's life. We visited the home, the York Gristmill, the York Institute, and the post office and general store that SGT York built. Everything was as beautiful as we had remembered, and we had a very enjoyable day.Close

Dorchester Country Club was in a secluded area of the resort with tree-lined fairways and many water hazards.
The Heatherhurst Golf Club has two 18-hole courses: the Brae and the Crag. They have both received four stars from Golf Digest’s Places to Play.
Stonehenge is also at Fairfield Glade. It is the #1 public course in Tennessee. There is no discount for resort guests, but when we were there, they did have coupons in the local paper.
All courses have clubhouses with driving ranges, practice greens, snack bars, pro shops, club rentals, and golf lessons.
We didn't play at Druid Hills Country Club, but it is also open to guests staying at a condo or golf villa. We enjoyed supper at the restaurant and they also have a separate lounge for more casual dining.

We loved taking long walks while at Fairfield Glade, since there were so many beautiful flowering trees. Spring is definitely beautiful in Tennessee! The resort has done a fine job of landscaping the grounds around the units, but a lot of the beauty in springtime is due to the naturally growing trees in the area. In the area close to the resort, it was always delightful to drive around and see the rolling hills, the green, green grass, and the beautiful trees. Tennessee is such a beautiful state!!Close

We wanted to see some beautiful waterfalls and read in the AAA Guide for Tennessee that Fall Creek Falls State Park had a 256-foot waterfall and some magnificent scenery, so it was perfect for us. It took us a little over an hour to drive south to the park. The AAA Guide did not exaggerate--the waterfalls (we saw three beautiful ones) and the scenery were outstanding. It was especially beautiful since all the spring flowers were in full bloom. We saw several groups of deer while we were driving in the park and many different birds. Our trip to Tennessee wouldn't have been complete without visiting Fall Creek Falls State Park. Close
