I spent several hours photographing the different flowers and it was hard to decide which ones I liked best. They were all so very beautiful and so very different. Close

My husband loves watching the early morning TV news while we are on vacations. One morning he happened to hear that the peaches were ripe in Queen Creek, Arizona. The station also gave the name of the orchard. While we were checking our e-mail at the Mesa Library, we asked for directions to Queen Creek and then we were on our way.
We arrived at the orchard a day before the official Peach Festival was to start, but they were still letting people go into the orchard and pick their own peaches. We were given a box and we headed in. The trees were full of beautiful ripe peaches and it didn't take us long to get the amount we needed. We enjoyed the experience and also enjoyed the wonderful peaches we were able to eat during the rest of our trip. In fact, we brought home enough for me to make a nice peach cobbler, too.

We enjoyed the Tonto National Forest Recreation Area and took several nice drives in the area. The mountains and the desert plants were beautiful. On one of our visits, we paid our daily use fees and stopped at several recreation areas in order to take photos. The Salt River runs through the area, and one of the use areas was dedicated to swimming and water recreation. The Tonto National Forest Recreation Area provides many recreation opportunities for those who like to hike, swim, boat, or just enjoy nature and its beauty. We also liked the fact that the area was just a short drive from the Grandvista Painted Mountain Golf Resort.Close

It's just a pawn shop, but us Northerners, or, more accurately, Northeasterners, aren't all that accustomed to pawning guns, or perhaps it's just fellows of my ilk. It was a "we're not in Kansas (or New York) anymore" moment when I saw this pawn shop. …Read More
