Visiting Massanutten
Majestic mountain landscapes, Civil War battlefields, and miles of hiking trails typify the rustic joys of western Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley. In winter, snow enthusiasts should seek out the 5,200-acre Massanutten Village Ski Resort (where they can rent accommodations as well). Snowboarders will find ample terrain here, and beginners can perfect their skills on an unimposing mountain. There’s no need to turn in when the sun goes down, either; all trails here are lit at night, too.
