Visiting Bangkok in December, we encountered wonderful weather in the mid-80ºF, and no rain. We found the city quite alive, filled with parks, museums and beautiful wats (Buddist Temples). The food and flower markets were a photographer's delight. The people were very polite and had no major difficulty with communicating in English. The waterways, with all the various modes of water transportation, were like an amusement park ride. Must-sees are the Grand Palace, Royal Barge Museum, Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn). Surprised at the amount of expensive department stores and their prices—the real bargains were north in Chaing Mai. Close
