Orange Beach is the ideal family getaway, but is perfect for anyone seeking solace from a busy lifestyle. Unlike other beaches, this area is geared for the traveler not inclined for late-night partying. Rather, it is for those looking for family fun parks, dolphin cruises, and shopping abound surrounding the white sand beaches. Both of our trips have been in May, typically early enough to avoid hurricane season, but warm enough to enjoy the beach and sun. We have taken advantage of the area's many condo rentals—very inexpensive if you can catch them in the off-season, but still affordable year-round. Many condos offer a "between season" discount, and sometimes will offer an extra night free if they are not booked on the end of your stay. Our preference has been to stay in these establishments because they provide private beach space, as well as full kitchens. With the fresh seafood available in the area, it's easy to make a delicious meal on your own! With neighboring cities Gulf Shores and Foley, there are plenty of activities to enjoy during your stay. A visit to the Gulf Coast Zoo is a good use of time, and homemade custard from a boardwalk creamery makes a warm early summer evening perfect! This truly is an ideal vacation—Orange Beach can satisfy the traveler who needs days full of fun activities, or the beachcomber who loves to soak up some rays.Close
