Thursday evening from 6 to 10pm in Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive there is an open-air craft fare and market. It makes for a nice evening stroll. There is music, crafts, and food. It also provides an opportunity to do a lot of people watching. Enjoy dinner before or after your stroll. Can be a bit crowded and the overall assortment of items is somewhat limited. But you never know, there may just be that perfect piece of jewelry or special souvenir just for you. Close

While you are in Palm Springs area, you need to attend the street fair on Thursday night. They close down the main street and fill it with various arts, crafts, and vendors. Don't forget your kettle corn to munch on while you're walking around.
There is also the College of the Desert, which is a giant flea market held at the College on Saturday and Sunday, every week.
Both events are free to attend and a nice break.
