Sometimes when I am on the go, I need to stop to relax and unwind. My husband, mom and mother-in-law all went to Mizu for a day of pampering. I struck gold when I found Mizu Spa.
Mizu, a Japanese style hot spring and spa, located at Rye, Mornington Peninsula. Set on a secluded (difficult to find) 7 acre property close to the ocean and bay Mizu has an established vineyard and cellar, two indoor and two outdoor baths, a swimming pool, beautiful gardens, a sauna/steam room, relaxation room and a Japanese chef on site. Thsi unique setup allows you to have treatments in the wet treatment room or out in Nature (not recommended if you burn easy.
There are a wide variety of packages available. I chose the THE DREAMING BODY TREATMENT. The experience lasted three hours. It was a complete treatment designed to rejuvenate body, mind and soul, from head to toe. Incorporating the body, facial, hair masque, hand and foot treatments all encompassed in Australian Aboriginal massage techniques. The experience includes Jina Foot, Mala Mayi Body, Paudi Hair Masque,Mikiri Facial and Polama Hand Treatments. All this for $270Au (thats about $140 US)
After the treatment we sat around a picnic table in the garden for afternoon tea (lunch). The menu was sushi, not one of my favorites... but I did fall in love with the Horseradish sauce (it was so hot & bitey)
This same mob will be opening BATHE on the other side of the hill. It is said to be a bigger complex and has natural hotsprings to encounter.
