This health food store offers an incredible variety of healthy, organic grown foods as well as thousands of other items that focus on health and personal growth. This place is very popular among the residents of the town as well as the Middlebury College Community. This Co-Op has a special place in my heart since I worked here for two years as a volunteer. Along with the excellent food and service, there is a real community here where people get together for pot-luck suppers, personal growth gatherings, trips, etc. I often regret moving back to Connecticut - my two years living in Vermont were so fulfilling, especially because of the wonderful friends who shared their lives with me. So many people in Vermont have given up high paying jobs to live here. Many of my friends, who are highly intelligent, and very wise, survive somehow on low-paying jobs in order to live in Vermont. I often question their lack of motivation to be"Successful", to make a contribution to the world. Yet these people are rich in spirit, in having lives centered in values quite different from our materialistic society. They truly believe in simplicity, of trusting in the Universe or God to care for them..and you know, they more than survive..they flourish in caring inter-personal relationships, in the joy of solitude, of being in a place of incredile beauty. Whenever I visit Vermont I question my own values and priorities.Close
