If I write another word like gorgeous, breathtaking, mythical, and unbelievable in describing New Zealand, I think I am going to do something drastic. But frankly it is hard to describe anywhere in New Zealand without using these superlatives, for anything and everything is just amazingly beautiful. There I go again. Hopefully I can stick with just factual description. The road from Christchurch to Akaroa is very winding, as you have to go to the top of the Christchurch hills before dropping onto the other side to get to Akaroa. But the blessings of course is that you get panoramic views of the region, and therefore can see Akaroa from the top, way before you enter the town. Just imagine standing on top of the hill, looking down to a town with water in the horizon, and nearer, green fields and isolated houses here and there. It's postcard perfect. Close
