The Borough of Canonsburg is proud of it's hometown legend, Perry Como. Internationally famous singing star Perry Como has sold more than 100 million albums while his songs have topped the charts for several consecutive weeks at a time. Como has received hundreds of professional and humanitarian awards, including an Emmy Award, Peabody Award, Christopher Award and Golden Mike Award. He recorded several Christmas specials around the world and is best known for his TV series, 'Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall,' which aired for a decade. 'Letters, we get letters, we get stacks and stacks of letters... Sing to me, Mr. C, sing to me - the songs that I've been waiting to hear,' introduced Perry Como's popular weekly television show. However, Como almost retired from the entertainment business in 1942 to return as a barber to his beloved Canonsburg. Fortunately for Como's millions of fans, his childhood sweetheart and wife, Roselle Belline, persuaded Como to star in his own radio show which propelled him to performances before European royalty and U.S. presidents, on television and in the movies. We honor our small town barber who became an international legend.Close
