Say Me-can-o-pee, there that's right! Micanopy is one of those tiny Florida towns which time forgot. The whole town will fit into a good sized city block. Most of the buildings are Florida style cracker homes with the ever present breeze-way and wide front porch. The economy of Micanopy is based on the antique shops. If you like antiques, you'll love Micanopy. Many of the antique shops specialize in depression glass. I always know where to shop for my sister's gifts as she is an avid collector of this once inexpensive glassware. If you saw Michael J. Fox in 'Doc Hollywood', you've been to Micanopy. I'm sure the movie industry has this little gem of a ready-made-movie-set cataloged for future movies. Close
