There are only a couple of ways to get to Princeton, so here's the scoop. 1. Flying in: Most people fly into Newark Airport, but people forget that the Philadelphia airport is just as close, if not closer. So, be sure to check both airports for better prices. Plus, if you fly into Philadelphia, you don't spend a single moment in Newark, NJ. There's also a Princeton airport, but there are very few flights there from very few cities. 2. Getting to Princeton from the airport. There's a bus service from Newark called the Princeton Airporter. It costs $20, and it's pretty much a scam. If you're coming back from a school break, you're packed into the buses like sardines, and it seems like you stop at every hotel between Newark and Princeton. IF YOU'RE A STUDENT, find some of the people waiting for the airporter, and share a taxi. It takes about 4 people sharing to make sense. Also, you can take a bus to the Newark stop along the New Jersey Transit train. That's a pain, but cheap. 3. There's a train station right at Princeton. This is extraordinarily easy if you're coming from Philadelphia or New York City. Both would take about 1 hr. You can take an Amtrak or the New Jersey transit train to Princeton Junction, and then you switch and take a small train called the "Dinky" to Princeton University. See www.njtransit.com for more info. 4. Driving to Princeton is pretty easy too. You take the New Jersey Turnpike to Route 1, and Princeton is right off of Route 1.Close
