After confirming on my last trip to the that the Emerald Isle truly is the land of shannangians, shamrocks, craic and "the perfect pint"- I thought I would like to that ideal picture I hold dear in my mind's eye and take it one step further.
On my last trip in 1999, I thought this trip in 2005 I would look for a fair skinned Colleen, a fiery redhead with piercing blue eyes and freckles in Lisdoonvarna at the world-renowned matchmaking festival.

(My dream date is Polish, and she asked how I like Ireland). As it turns out since my last visit in 1999- Ireland has had a remarkable economic upturn and joined the EU. Eastern Europeans are coming to Ireland in droves to the land now nicknamed the "Celtic Tiger". My point is this: If you are looking to meet someone from Ireland, you are now as likely to meet someone from Slovakia, Russia, or all points in Eastern Europe.
