Just in case anyone is wondering yes there is bus service between Mexico and the United States. It is operated by Crucero Bus lines. It's a subsiderary of Golden State buslines and they are usually located in conjunction with Greyhound bus stations.
In Hermosillo you can catch the bus at the CAH terminal (Centro Autobuses de Hermosillo) Enter through the Elite doors and Crucero will be in front of you to the left.
The cost is only 207 pesos to Tucson or 132 pesos to Nogales Arizona. 320 pesos to Phonix.
Buses depart starting at 12:30am and leave every 2 hours until 7:30pm (from 11am until 5pm the buses leave on the hour and not the half hour). All are direct to Phonix via Nogales (US side of the boarder) Tucson. The 5:30am bus goes to Las Vegas the 7:30am,9:30am,3pm and 5pm buses go to Los Angeles.
The retrun trip from Tucson to Hermosiilo is one bus every two hours as well. but I advise you to call them at 520-624-9434 for fares and schedules.
To Tucson is about 5 hours and to Nogales is about 3.5 hours. Customs seems fairly lientint to american travlers however be prepared to be searched at the Mex/US boarder, remember no fruit!
I recommend that if you plan to take a bus to Mexico that you first take Greyhound to either Tucson or Nogales. They are convient for crossing the boarder however the seats are a little cramped.
Crucero has lots of offices in the Western United States stretching from Arizona to Nevada, Colorado, California and Washington. Call the Tucson number (520) 624-9434 for schedules and numbers to the other offices or just leave me a message here and I will send them to you.
