I had a great time on this weekend away. The whole reason we took the trip was a little girls weekend away for some R&R and to buy great candles. The factory is great. We spent all day shopping and since I am a wanna be photographer taking pictures of the adorble decor. The area around the factory is quaint and quiet but if you are looking for other activities in the area there aren't a lot to choose from. The hotel was great and cheap and we stayed inside watching tv and playing games. I would return again except in better weather. The roads are very icy and if you are not comfortable driving in ice and snow they will make you very nervous. We did do some exploring around the area in the towns. It is a lot of farmland and nature scenes that are quite beautiful and make some great picture opportunities.
The next town over led us to a small diner, where we chatted up some locals who turned out to be a lot of fun, and we spent time with them, chatting and laughing. All the people we came in contact with were very helpful and not in the least bit rude. The area is a big ski and snowboard area but honestly that was not our scene so I can't comment on that. A weekend will be enough to see the factory and relax with friends. I wouldn't recommend bringing kids or husbands since there isn't a lot for them to do and the factory is full of glass and fragile items. I do think had the weather been better (it snowed the entire weekend) we would have explored more. All in all, we enjoyed it tremendously and plan to return in the fall.
