Another less busy, more scenic way is to take airport road, which can be taken anywhere from the airport (Pearson, Brampton, Mississauga, etc) all the way down to Highway 92, which you will make a right onto. After that, you are in Wasaga. The drive from Brampton takes about 1.5 hours with reasonable traffic.
Getting around Wasaga, you definitely need a car to get there and to go to any attractions that are not located on the beach. If you are staying close to the beach, everything you could need is nearby; however, if you want to explore the area more, a rental car is recommended.
