Because it’s the rare traveler who makes it to the top of a tall mountain, we like to think that traveler will take photos for the less intrepid. In some cases, this means he'll capture sunsets while they rouge the tops of low clouds, while in others it just means finding something you’d never spot at sea level. Our Photos of the Week are little slices of heaven.
You might not think of Malaysia as a hotspot for mountain climbers, but Composthp certainly did. When the Singapore native set off for the Kota Kinabalu mountain range, she took her camera, which came in handy when the sun took a bite out of the clouds. We like to think it was just as pretty in the sunrise.
We tend to think of mountains as snow-covered, but what do they become when the snow is melting away? Gochika didn’t know either, but her gorgeous picture of a hidden lake in Montana fills in the blank just fine. Our only problem? It makes us wish it were spring.
