Some people are afraid of heights. Other people, like IgoUgo members Islapaz and Machair1, are happiest with a few thousand feet between themselves and sea level. They took a break from their mile-high excursions recently to snap photos of the dizzying views from two different mountaintops. Our Photos of the Week are on top of the world.
In the French Alps, a good climber can travel up so high they can take a seat above the clouds. Islapaz waited until the sky was clear to snap this gorgeous photo of the vista. Notice how the wispy clouds in the distance hover over the snow-capped peaks.
On the other side of the world, an observatory sits atop a large plateau in a hill-covered desert. When Machair1 went to see the observatory, she took a gorgeous shot of the arid Arizona countryside. Kudos to Machair1 for contrasting the sky with the cracked pavement.
