You can tell a lot about a traveler by his response to the question "Where are you staying?" (or, for that matter, to the admonishment "Get a room!"). All types will find acceptable abodes among the lodgings opening their doors, flaps, and cells this summer. It’s a new world where airport accommodations are chic, hotels’ members-only floors are cushier than home, and luxury means next-generation yurts sprouting from Big Sur to Cornwall. The US and UK will also soon share a favorite affordable hotel brand from the Hilton family, and in a not entirely unrelated story, jailhouses are welcoming the innocent for a price—may lodgers be pardoned for nabbing this rare opportunity.
