Week in Photos: Peaks, Valleys & Views from Loos Photo

This week, you hit Amsterdam at its tuliped peak, summited peaks in Bhutan and North Carolina, peeked at a comical fish near Turks and Caicos, piqued an interest in Eastern Europe, and took a pic of a giant pickle. These are just a few picks from your latest travels; here they are, caught on camera.

New member Cynda_Poynor says that “pictures do not really do justice” to the Turks and Caicos Islands; this “truck fish” begs to differ, as do her other photos.

A pretty Puerto Rico photo no matter how you look at it, but especially notable for being “one of the best views from any bathroom in a national park anywhere,” according to travelswithkids. Such a view, and privacy too!

BawBaw worked hard for this photo—it’s from Clingmans Dome, the highest point in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

New Zealand’s Montana Winery literally sparkles in this shot from Red Mezz, who says of the region, “Of all the places I visited in this year in New Zealand, Marlborough was one of my favourites.”

The House of the Blackheads in Riga looks imposing from michaelhudson's view.

St. Lucia’s dramatic Pitons posed for mlmeredith.

More mountains, though we would have labeled them clouds had koshkha not described the scene otherwise. But who can blame us? The Dochu La, Bhutan, location is brand-new to IgoUgo!

Dinendra captured London’s Gherkin on a lovely spring day, though even clouds can’t keep the Londoner from deeming her city “postcard” perfect.

Carmen tiptoed (or clogged?) through the tulips of Keukenhof Gardens in Amsterdam.

And springtime on Park Avenue, New York City? Not that different, according to manumombo.

Sure, fizzytom took “the cheat’s way” to the castle in Ljubljana, but she’s hiked the hill before. And the view of the city is just as spectacular when you’ve taken the funicular.

Taipei-based YouthTravelTaiwan traveled Taiwan to find fuzzy flowers at the 2009 Hakka Tung Blossom Festival in Sanyi.

And new member lwrbva snagged a fog-free shot of a San Francisco icon from the Presidio.
