There’s no doubt that culinary travel is hot right now, so why not visit some of the sweetest places in the world? It’s easy to use chocolate as an excuse to travel and vice versa—not that you really need a reason to eat chocolate.

Now that the winter winds are wailing, your perfect getaway may involve curling up in front of a fire with a mug of cocoa. While fireplaces are few and far between in New York City, there is hot chocolate aplenty. Or perhaps dreams of warm weather dance in your head, in which case there are plenty of more temperate climates where you can sample some of the best bean products, and even see how it’s all done. If you’re really looking to get away, you can travel to the ends of the earth and still taste some black gold. And if you’re bored of the same old stuff, your travels may unearth some unique alternatives or find you sipping something even more indulgent than hot chocolate.
