Hawaiians consider Las Vegas their "other" island. Many Hawaiians move here for employment in the hospitality industry or visit for entertainment. So it is only reasonable that Hawaiian Airlines makes a direct flight to Vegas. This was a special trip for us and my husband insisted on first class air travel. Hawaiian Airlines provides excellent comfort in first class. We know that United and American have more bells and whistles on their seating. However, HA has very cushy seating for sleeping and with plenty of legroom. One armrest has your personal monitor that pops up easily. On it we could watch a large play-list of movies, TV shows and several video games. I also enjoyed listening to several CDs of my preferred Hawaiian music. The other armrest contains your pop up serving tray. One meal we had was breakfast-brunch serving of Quiche Lorraine, French toast with berry compote, a fresh fruit plate and a tasty muffin. An evening snack tray we received contained crab cake salad, BBQ sesame ginger beef croissant and a fruit plate. Not too shabby, huh?! We also enjoyed the preflight benefits of the First Class Lounge. It was a quiet room with comfortable chairs and tables. They served free coffee and soft drinks. In one lounge I was impressed with framed feather leis decorating the walls. All the staff, on board and at the terminals, was patient, kind, and helpful. Since air tickets vary with every flux in the economy, I won’t give prices here. I can tell you that our tickets were a third less than they would have been on United. Oh yeah, did I mention the Champaign and Mimosas? Very good.
