Once you’re finished taking a million photos in front of Big Ben, walk across Parliament Bridge to the other side of the river, stroll past the London Eye and enjoy a nice afternoon on London’s Southbank.
There really is something for everyone here. You’ll find great modern buildings like the Southbank Centre which houses the Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the Royal Festival Hall. All year round you’ll find wonderful exhibitions and shows at these amazing venues. If you’re really the artsy type, keep strolling along the riverside walkway and you’ll stumble upon the Tate Modern.
Three of my favorite spots in the Southbank have got to be Gabriel’s Wharf, Wahaca Mexican Restaurant, and the Southbank Book Market. All three are must sees!
If none of that interests you, the views of the River Thames, Parliament, Big Ben, Somerset House, and St Paul’s are definitely worth the trip to the Southbank.
