My friend thought it would be a brilliant idea if we took a Mexican street food cooking class at Jamie Oliver’s Recipease in Notting Hill. Those that really know me would know how absurd this idea would seem. To say I’m a terrible cook is an understatement. I could easily ruin scrambled eggs and toast.
Terrified as I was, I went along anyway and thoroughly enjoyed it. Okay, so it might have taken me a good 5 minutes to chop up an onion but everything worked out in the end. I didn’t even get food poisoning. I proudly made my own soft-corn tortillas, sticky smoked chipotle chicken, sautéed spinach with herbs & feta cheese, guacamole, and a spicy roasted corn salsa. The classes have no more than 10 people and the cooking area you get to work in is really incredible. I’d highly recommend it if you’re in London.
