It was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining brightly after a winter chill, so off we went to Santa Monica to relax and do some California dreamin’.
Tucked between the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains and the mighty Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica is a charming coastal city often featured in movies and TV shows. It is only 20 miles west of downtown Los Angeles which makes it a popular weekend destination.
We parked at a public parking garage on 4th Street and walked to Palisades Park to enjoy the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. Oh what a beautiful day it was! Sailboats glide gracefully across the azure waters of the ocean, shore-break waves give surfers an exciting ride and lovers stroll along the beach.
Then we walked a block or two and stopped for a quick bite at a British pub "Ye Olde King’s Head" before heading to Third Street Promenade to enjoy street performers. We then drove along Pacific Coast Highway and watched the sun set on the horizon above the Pacific Ocean which rests serenely as the day comes to an end.
