A Basic but Reliable Little Airport

Best of IgoUgo

Bologna airport is actually one of my favourites in Italy - for me, it's the gateway to Northern Italy. There is little in the way of shops at Bologna airport, so don't expect to do your shopping there but it's simple and fast and I seem to find myself out on the bus heading to the center in seconds. The airport is just a few kilometres from the city centre and the bus is 5 euros to take you to the train station, which considering the short distance is probably too steep.

Bologna train station is well connected to Milan, Florence and Venice as well as the south of the country too, so it is a good place to either arrive or to base yourself. The airport's full name is Guglielmo Marconi Airport which always catches me, when I'm trying to search for the flight details in my gmail inbox.

The cheap flights which at the moment only consist of flights from Stansted, Birmingham, Dublin, Warsaw, Katowice and Girona will be increased immensely next year to connect the city with Romania, Spain, Norway and France. A simple and basic airport that is well located and will be extremely well connected shortly!
